Mere Christianity by C.S. LewisMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was my third time through. Lewis isn't perfect, but overall this is a wonderful book. My favorite sections of the book are . . .
1) Lewis's argument that our common sense of right and wrong are clues to the meaning of the universe;
2) Lewis's argument for the deity of Jesus Christ (Because he claimed to be God, he was most emphatically not merely a good moral teacher. He was either a lunatic, a fiend, or God Himself);
3) Lewis's discussion of the cardinal virtues, the Christian virtues, and the seven deadly sins (Lewis shows great insight into the way we think); and
4) his explanation of how Christ transforms believers into new creatures--this section of the book is marvelous.
